17 months

Aha! Now, I'm in the mood to write... ^^ Heehee! My iphone crashed, it's hard to take videos and pictures of Calleigh using my digicam or jayjay's cam. Oh well, Calleigh will turn 18 months tomorrow. Yey! ^^ She's a big girl now! I'm so proud of her... I'm not sure what has changed this month but suddenly, Calleigh has decided to be a sweet heart. She has spent the last month getting very close to me. We spend long periods of time reading books, playing silly games, and talking about things. She understands so much now and I love communicating with her. I can only imagine how silly we look talking to one another.

1. At 16 months, she started to string words together. Dahil sa non-stop na barney at elmo! hehe! She can say: Sit down, clap my/your hands, stamp my/your feet, Sit here eside (beside) me, what happened?, I want bath time, I want go miming (swimming), good morning mommy, abyu mommy, i don't like this/that, let's go park, let's go outside and blah blah blah super dami na!

2. Calleigh has an attitude. When she gets angry, she will point and complain in baby jibberish. I can't help but turn my face and giggle.

3. She used the big girl potty for the first time. pero di pa nauulit ulit! haha!

4. she loves to be independent, she wants to do everything on her own! She loves  washing herself in the tub, clothing herself at madami pang iba! hehe!

5. She has 14 teeth in total now.

6. And yesiree, she still loves watching elmo, barney and nemo for hours! as in NON-STOP!!! waaaaahh! after 2-3 hours of watching tv, she'll open her laptop and starts watching youtube videos. uy shempre nemo, barney, elmo pa din! after youtube, she'll ask you to read stories.

7. She is starting to play "pretend." hehe!
Pssst, TAMA NA YAN CALLEIGH! Sobra ka nang telebabad!

Calleigh update:

Finally! I was able to capture a video of Calleigh counting and reciting the alphabet. ^^ As early as 7 months, (click here) she tried signing the alphabet. Naks! Proud mommy! Now, she can say ABCDE and mumbles the rest of the letters. heehee! ^^ And oh, she can count in Spanish too! I'll try to video that soon!

Here's her video:

^^ Good job honey!

Calleigh at 16 months

Calleigh update:

Calleigh is 16 months old now. She has a couple of new favorite songs – Clapping song from Barney, If you’re happy and you know it (yun ba title nun?hehe) Itsy bitsy spider and I’m a little teapot. ^^ Hay salamat di na kme puro Elmo! ^^

She knows more body parts - she will tell you where her hands and her knees are, in addition to head, hair, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, bellybutton, fingers, elbows, nails, and toes.

She’ll say:
Hans – Hands
Foot or Feet – Foot / Feet
Hair – Hair
Eyes – Eyes
Eas – Ears
Nos – Nose
Mat – Mouth
Teeth – Teeth
Neck – Neck
Ebows – Elbows

She's also  into trying to do things herself, or pretending to do adult things. For example, if she sees a hair brush, she tries to brush her hair, or tries to brush my hair, or pretends to brush Elmos hair. tries to feed Elmo , big bird and barney or pretend to give them a sip of water out of a straw, and pretends to answer the phone. Cleaning her nails, washing her clothes, cleaning our room – o diba? Haha! Bata pa lang marunong na! ^^

About the talking... it is the most fun thing ever watching a baby learn to communicate. Every single day she says something new or puts different words together. She says too many words to count them all anymore, although not all are pronounced correctly.

For example:
Walk walk walk – She wants to walk
I wawa like – I don’t like
Watch TV / Watch Elmo or Barney – Gi, watch Elmo (Tito Jed watch Elmo)
Spidor - spider
Ans – Ants
Sip – sleep
Tater – Water
Eeepot – teapot
Stowis – Stories

Words that she can say correctly:
Fish
Nemo
Dog
Bird
Eat or papap (food) – sometimes you’ll hear her say come go eat.
Banana, Apple, Rice
Papoop – poop
Wash – she’ll say wash hands or wash papoop
Put alcohol
Dirty
Clap
Feet
Elmo
Barney
Okay or Hakey
Key
Come
Car
Book
Star
No
Wala
This and That
High Five
Comb / Comb hair
Smile
Bath time
Juice
Sit here
Get
Put
Please
Read
Diaper

Ugh, too many words... I will try to take more videos of Calleigh nalang. Heehee! ^^ That’s it for now.  Time to work, work, work...

Talking Hands

Oh dear, I just realized that I only have a few photos of Calleigh during her 14th month. tsk! kainis!
Calleigh - 14 months @ Astoria Plaza Hotel

I was too busy with my cupcakes and IR photos... However, I have tons of her videos naman. I will be sharing that later... My little princess is now 15 month old. Still can't walk on her own, she's still holding onto furnitures or holding her ate's hand when walking but she can manage a few steps on her own before falling. ^^ Her teeth - Yey! Upper - 4 teeth and Lower - 5 teeth. ^^ Heehee! Calleigh loves singing and dancing. She still loves books, she can sit still and listen to a story for ten minutes or more, or pretends to read them. ^^ Talking is not a problem! I don't have to encourage her to talk because she talks non-stop. Her willingness to repeat all the words she can hear -- nakakaloka!

Here's a story:
Me: meron kausap sa phone - "hahaha! Pun-ye-ta kakaloka ang lula mo... blah blah blah"
(Calleigh was busy watching her elmo video, pag baba ng phone)
Calleigh: mom?
Me: Yes honey?
Calleigh: P-TA? P-TA? (laughs) mom happy? P-ta! P-ta!
Me: yap, mom is happy and I said fita anak!. (pabulong - yari ako sa tatay mo nito)
Calleigh: Fita? Eat? go down mom, eat!

O diba? di ko masabing NO kasi uulitin lang niya ng uulitin. Hahaha! O well, maybe it's time for me to share her videos...

Video 1: - Showing her nose, mouth, teeth, saying her name, kuya hanz and jayjay

Video 2  - I'm signing and she's saying the words (dede,apple,ball,hat)

Video 3 - Mommy using sign language and Calleigh saying the words (eat, book, mommy, daddy, etc....)

Heehee! Galing no? I'm so proud of you Calleigh...That's it for now...

Samu't Sari

Calleigh Update: She's turning 14 months tomorrow. Yey! I'll be sharing some of her videos and a few photos later. It's hard to keep track of her achievements lalo na ngayon super kulit! hay! She can't walk on her own yet, she's still holding onto furniture when walking. I think walking on her own will take a little longer pa. ^^ Okay lang! no rush! The important thing for her is that she is moving on her own; she no longer has to wait to be lifted and carried. Takes more practice anak! ^^

Hmmm, whatelse??? Still has 6 teeth! heehee! Tamad lang to hold her bottle and to eat by herself. But she knows how!!!
See?
Anyway, try to watch her funny videos...

Tries to put on her shoes.

Play time with Papa J - singing "fly fly fly the butterfly & i have two hands"

Saying - Elmo and Water

Saying - Apple

Hahaha! gayahin daw ba ang daddy niya sa pag kain ng peanuts. ^^

Calling Dada!!!

Giving mommy her sweet embrace... ^^

Kulit na no? hay! I love you so much Calleigh! ^^

Calleigh's 12 month Photos

Finally! My computer is now okay! So, let’s start blogging Calleigh’s 12 month old stories.. Hmmm, where to begin?

Calleigh turned 1 and I can officially say that she’s already a toddler. Whew!  She definitely knows how to get under my skin and has mastered the art of "testing me." I'm being strong, but there are times when it's just easier to give in.

Her development: Let me see if I can still remember...
·         * Calleigh has 6 teeth now. But her two front teeth – spongebob pa din!

·         * She cannot walk on her own yet. No rush! She’ll get there soon.

·         * Trying to feed herself with a spoon.  (practice pa anak!)
·          * New words: Hakey for Okay, saying the name DORA is more clearer “DOWA”, owl,         apple, diaper, papap for food, papup for poop, seep for sleep, this, that, come, go, can count 1 to 3, alphabet – A to C. I’m impressed with her vocabulary. ^^ Just check my previous posts. More baby sign language...

·         * She likes scribbling and ofcourse reading her books

·         * Hands objects to you when asked. (She's been doing that when she was 10 mos old) However, she can respond to simple questions and commands.
·         * Non-stop babbling into more speech-like form, with increased intonation

·         * Starting to get shy with strangers

·         *  Loves playing name that Item. ^^

* Youtube Addict!

Lefty?

According to some research, hand dominance is greatly influenced by genetics. Hmmmm, parang hindi naman! ^^ Both my parents are left-handed, bakit ako right-handed pati mga kapatid ko. hehehe!  When Calleigh started scribbling, she uses her right hand. But now, she preferred using her left hand. heehee!
Here's a video of Calleigh with Papa J.

They say that you won't be able to determine your true right or left-handedness until your child is 2 or 3 years old.  ^^ Oh well, no big deal! ^^ It's perfectly "hakey" with me. ^^

Remember that it's not a good idea to attempt to influence your child's hand preference. While genetics alone don't entirely explain why someone ends up right- or left-handed, hardwiring of your child's nervous system is at least part of the reason. Forcing your kids to use their right hand when they're really a lefty is unlikely to work in the long run and will only confuse or frustrate them along the way.

Thank you for celebrating my first birthday with mommy, daddy, kuya Hanz and Me! ^^ We hope that you enjoyed the party as much as we enjoyed having you with us. ^^

~ CALLEIGH

Calleigh's 1st birthday celebration, was a successful one. And although I've been advised a couple of times that throwing a party for her at that age might not have been such a good idea nor a practical thing to do; that she wouldn't remember it anyway! I still thought it was a great idea to celebrate her 1st year of life...more as an expression of thanksgiving. We really intend to show Calleigh later on how much we value her and that day. If we will be fortunate enough to give her another party in the future, I won't mind going through all this again. Thank you so much for making Calleigh's Birthday a day to remember! ^^
