Calleigh's 11th month photos

Calleigh's 11th month photos

Wipee!!! Calleigh's turning 1 on Sunday. ^^ We are all excited! We've been teaching Calleigh on how to blow a candle in preparation for her birthday.  She's been trying, but the air comes out of her nose and not her mouth! I gave it a thought and realized that she is applying what I taught her the time she was sick. Whenever I say "blow", she thinks that I am telling her to blow her nose to ease the congestion.

This month, Calleigh has been perfecting a lot of things. She hasn't changed that much...

Her development continues to amaze me.

1. Baby sign language: Milk, play, bath, dad, mom, no, stop, fish, butterfly, dog, duck, bird, car, book, ball, cat, more, sleep, yes, up, down, no more, finish, stars, eat, come, airplane, telephone.

2. She can now say the words: Daddy or Dada, Mum, Mama, Papa, Hi, Bye-bye, Car, "nos" - nose, "eees" - ears, "ays" - eyes, "B" - baby, "Mik" or "Dede" - Milk, "Dddddora" - Dora (she's actually singing the dora song every time she sees dora the explorer), "bafly" - butterfly, "Te" - Ate, "fawr" - Flower, "ish" - fish, "Ayt" - light, "sik piz" - Music please.... and so on... ^^

3. Mimicking sounds: Her favorite "MONSTER", Dog, Cat, Tiger, Duck, Cow, Bird, Baby and "ME" when I'm angry. (Calleigh will say like this: Aaahhh nya nya nya nya nya ha! HA! HA?)

4. She still loves playing peek a boo and hide-and-go seek and he likes to wave. Has been blowing kisses for a long time now, but now makes the accompanying smacking noises! Mwah!

5.  She likes to act silly and make jokes and loves to dance.

6. We are still working on the whole "no" thing, he understands for sure and minds most of the time but likes to test me too of course.

7. She loves to play with anything around the computer and likes watching animated butterflies, birds and fishes and her Nickelodeon friends (umizoomi, dora, spongebob, backyardigans, ben and holly) from youtube.

8. She seems very interested in colors and numbers lately. I've been doing lots of counting and identifying with her. She listens so eagerly to everything I say.

9. She can identify almost everything from nose, eyes, hair, mouth, colors to her toys by pointing when asked.

10. Her favorite things still consists of climbing onto everything. She still loves her stuffed animals. She loves to be held and cuddled and kisses. She loves to have her hair brushed. And she discovered a cabinet this month that we have cleaned out especially for her. She stays forever entertained!

11. She still enjoys looking at books, leafing through the pages and pretending that she's reading.

Now here she is...a stunning, thriving 1 year old little girl that I can't imagine in any other way.

Frollic Shoes

Our Frollic Shoes just arrived this afternoon.
Taran!!!
The pink one is for Calleigh - size 5 XS for kids and the black one is for me! ^^

Frollic shoes are completely flat and very comfortable. However, these footsie rolls are NOT for frolicking or even for long walks... Heehee! They're good for "back up/relief shoes". I think it is also comfy to use when driving. ^^

Anyway, sad story here --- Calleigh's "Frollic Shoes" won't fit!! Waaaaahhhh! Wanna know the reason why?
Coz, of her "tabaching-ching feet" Hahahaha! Kainis!! ^^

Calleigh's first taste of freedom

Baby proofing the entire house is impossible! However, cluttering our home or even our own room with "no-nos" will deprive her with her freedom and create more restrictions that she can possibly absorb! It will also frustrate her... So, I'm giving Calleigh a little taste of "freedom"... Ssssshhhh!

See? No slippers and she's on the floor without rubber mats!
Hala sige anak! gapang pa!

Ahem! ONLY "under my supervision"
Allowing her to explore and experiment within limits, adds to her growing independence and confidence.

No matter how many toys litter the family room, babies/toddlers often prefer emptying kitchen cupboards so they can play with the pots and pans. If you're tired of picking up after your child, put childproof locks on all your cabinets except for one that you leave open for exploration. To keep things interesting, put a different selection of unbreakable objects, such as wooden spoons, pots and pans, plastic cups, etc., in the cabinet every few days. Your child will love investigating what's behind the door and in the process she'll practice her "grasp and release" skills and try to figure out the cause and effect of what she's doing.

And according to this site:
Walking barefoot, on grass or sand, is actually good for a toddler because it helps build muscles in the lower legs while developing a sense of balance. Once your child is able and wants to walk in places where she might injure her feet, however, you'll need to put shoes on her.

Now, look at Calleigh's feet! Pinalakad ng dad ko ng walang slippers sa living room!!! Aaarrrggghhh! not my fault! ^^

Setting age-appropriate limits and boundaries gives babies the freedom and security to learn, try new things and have fun in a safe, loving environment.

Don't sneak out!

Oh dear, my little girl is starting to get clingy again!
I've been busy preparing for her 1st birthday, and I only have 5 days to finalize everything... This past few days, Calleigh has been so cranky and clingy... And just to make sure I won't sneak out when she's sleeping...
Aha!!! pano ako makaka-kilos nito?
ok, fine!! mag tongits nalang si mom! ^^ heehee!

Separation anxiety is perfectly normal and important developmental adaptation. Nothing I've done has “made” Calleigh develop her separation anxiety. I'm sure this stage will pass, in time! I'm just allowing my baby to be a baby. ^^ It’s an evidence that the bond I've worked so hard to create is holding. I'm spoiling my little girl with love! ^^

Oooops, excuse me po sa pangit kong knees. hahaha! kaloka!!
I'd prefer holding it this way... much easier to control her.
Here's a video of her...

Doctors advice:  Babies really need to feel the floor under their feet and that will give them a better sense of where they are.

Okay anak, mag paa ka na muna! hehehe!

Calleigh's Pictorial

We went all the way to Trinoma to have Calleigh's pictures taken at "Picture This Studio" only to find out that they closed due to bankruptcy. Susmaryosep! We asked around kung meron pang ibang studio and as usual walang alam ang mga security sa trinoma. ^^ Sayang naman ang outfit nang anak ko at pagod. Hay! I saw this Photoline Store/Studio at 2nd level of Trinoma. Pwede na to! ^^ Heehee! Let's see...
I'm sure this is familiar, right? Forgot to take picture of the store. Hehehe!

Calleigh's raw photos...

Hmmm, not bad! Photoline have a small studio for I.D pictures. ^^ hehehe! They also have a few props, costumes, butterfly wings and stuff toys for kids. Special package #4, which costs P145 for 2 poses (1 large photo print, 1 standard size print and 6 wallet size prints) Oh diba? parang highschool days lang sa pag papa-studio! ^^

After 5 minutes, 12 shots lahat meron si Calleigh. And since it's only 145 pesos, I took all of it. ^^ That's a total of P870 for 12 shots (12 large prints, 12 standard prints and 72 wallet size prints) Hahahaha! Kaloka diba! plus 20 pesos for a soft copy of the photos. Cheaper right? Okay na to for Calleigh's tarpaulin sa 1st birthday. ^^ Edit nalang ang labanan. ^^

Okay, dear friends, I need you to help me edit Calleigh's Photos. ^^ Thanks! ^^
