Picky Eater No More

After months of pureeing, mashing and carefully introducing new food to Calleigh, making her food now becomes a little easier for me. My "picky eater" now eats real table food... I have been able to identify what she likes and what she doesn't!

She likes:
Potatoes from Nilagang Baka - AMAZING!!! dati ayaw niya ng potato
Sopas
Sayote from Tinolang Manok - AMAZING!!!
Chicken
Fish - Tilapia (she started eating tilapia at 8 months)
Sausage
HAM - GALORE!!!
French Fries
Ampalaya - tried once and she liked it
Carrots
Egg - her all time favorite
Cheese
Cereals without milk - serves as her chips while watching tv

Hates:
Beef - maybe she doesn't like the texture yet!
Oatmeal
Spaghetti

Hmmmm, my picky eater seems to be improving. Now she eats almost everything. But my main concern here... She seems to be eating less food than she was before. Hay!! "Praning mommy mode" they say NOT TO PANIC because....

Baby's appetite can vary from day to day and is influenced by such things as: a) Teething, b) temperature and humidity, c) how active he/she is, d) not feeling well, e) developmental stages.

And a baby's growth naturally slows down at this time, so she may simply feel less hungry than before. Continue to offer a wide variety of foods and be patient, she'll let you know when she's hungry.

Okay fine, maybe I need to see her pediatrician just to make sure. Calleigh eats 4x a day plus her 6oz of milk per feeding for a total of 7-8 bottles a day. Ooops, plus (1) 4oz of milk at 3-4 am. ^^ She's more interested in what's going on around her, than what's on her plate. So along with her emerging personality comes strong OPINIONS ... and if she doesn't like it, she's not eating it!

Bottle Feeding

Calleigh tried holding her bottle when she was 3 months old. Heehee! It was too heavy for her but atleast she gets the idea. ^^ During her 6th month, she suddenly decided to stop holding her bottle. When she's finally got good at it, she decided that she didn't really want to do it after all. hay naku!

But she needs to hold her bottle! She's turning 10 months na! So we need to practice Calleigh. ^^

Good girl honey
Feeding times may slow down, let your baby hold her bottle once she starts grabbing for it. The weight will build strength and there is a built-in reward for successfully moving the bottle the way it needs to be moved to get at the contents. During the first year of your child’s life, you can help her develop the fine motor skills that she will need for writing, drawing, speaking, and tying shoes.  What muscles will your baby be developing when you work with her on fine motor skills? The small muscles you and she will be working on are in the palms of her hands, her fingers and surrounding her mouth and eyes. These muscles are what she uses to grasp and manipulate objects, speak, and develop hand-eye coordination.

Okay Calleigh time for you to hold your bottle. ^^ lets see...

Naks! galing ni Calleigh ah! She holds her bottle only for a few seconds then ayaw na niya ulit. ^^ heehee! No worries, she'll get used to it!
