Sippy Cup

We introduced the "Sippy Cup" for Calleigh 2 weeks ago but she's not real crazy about it just yet. She'd rather just chew the tip of the cup.
Avent Bottle trainer kit - Originally from a 9oz bottle pero transfer ko sa 4oz lang. hehe! at at meron pang stain ng food nya. ^^

So, I would let her play with it during meal time until she learns how to use it.

Celebrating Calleigh's 7th month

Happy 7th Month Calleigh

Cake: Strawberry Choco Indulgence from Cake2Go

Spaghetti from Mama C and Papa J - Thank you!
We love you Calleigh ^^

Earth's Best Baby Food

If your baby is a picky eater like my Calleigh, this product is worth a try. Calleigh would not eat Cerelac and even real food until my cousin's wife - Gladys and my dear friend - April, recommended I try Earth's Best Rice Cereal from Healthy Options. We were really surprised she liked it so well. Plus, Earth's Best Jarred Food offers lots of different flavors. ^^

If its Organic, Don't Panic! / Don't Panic, It's Organic -- nyahahaha! (iba ata yun) ehem!!!

Calleigh's 6th month Photos

Calleigh keeps on rolling and rolling and rolling... Whew! It can fun for her but nerve-racking for me. She shows interest in getting around and exploring her environment. And yes, at this month she’s also a “Social Butterfly”. Anyone who approaches her with welcoming eyes or a grin delights becomes her instant friend. She’ll do just about anything that can get our attention... I am continually amazed by what she’s doing.
this is her pa-cute smile ^^

• Understands the word and sign for “NO” – When you say “NO” she’ll stop on whatever she’s been doing but just for a few seconds... ^^ ASL – butterfly, mom, dad, more, ABC’s, eat, dog
teaching her the sign for "NO"
Calleigh trying to make a sign for "NO"
Calleigh signing for "Milk"

• She’s very close to sitting up unassisted. Her balance has improved greatly. She can sit up with her hands forward a little bit better than before but doesn't do it for long. She is still working at this.
With the help of her Dona Pillow ^^

• She’s super chatty. Expanding her repertoire by making noises, a lot of screaming, blowing and doing the TSK TSK TSK... (I'll post some of her videos soon) =)

• In line with her grabbiness, she loves all her toys, too. If she can grab it, stare at it, chew on it, or bang on it, she likes it.

• Hair pulling is one of her favorite. Nothing more than to grab a big fistful hair and pull.

• She smiles and giggles all the time. She enjoys being tickled, dancing, looking at herself in the mirror.

• She loves her feet more than ever before. She discovered them last month but had no idea she LOVED them until this month. I don't blame her. I like them too.
Can I eat my toes now mom?

• She suddenly decided to stop holding her bottle. She was practicing hold it ALL last month and then once she finally got good at it, decided that she didn't really want to do it after all.
• She is becoming very mobile....VERY! We have to keep a very close eye on her at every single second now!

She's turning 7 months tomorrow! ^^ Wipeee!

Calleigh's Butterflies

This is a video of Calleigh Baby signing for Butterfly... ^^

Calleigh loves butterflies so much that when you visit our home, you will see butterflies everywhere....

1. Living room

She watches these butterflies dangling in front of her. She randomly reaches out to it, bats at it and causes it to move. This amusing reaction urges her to try again and she quickly learns that her hand caused the toy to sway. She reaches out again and gradually her random movements become more deliberate, developing eye-hand coordination. ^^

3. Bedroom

4. Toy from Ninang Cathy Sepio (thanks Cat)

Changing the norm of sign language
by: Rachel Barawid

In the Philippines, sign language is used mostly with physically challenged people, particularly those who are hearing impaired. Seldom do Filipinos consider using sign language for other purposes.

But what Michelle Tancioco has done with her baby Calleigh is such an innovative and revolutionary way. It has served as an eye-opener to many parents out there that sign language can also be used to reach out to their babies who at their very young age cannot verbally convey what they want.

Indeed, it has changed the norm and perception of most people on using sign language.

I hope parents will use this method of early interaction with babies to their children as well.It will not only encourage your baby to develop his/her cognitive skills at an early age but will also help you understand your baby even more.

Good job Michelle! Keep it up Calleigh!

What a Beautiful and Smart Baby!!
by: Lisabeth R.

Wow, I can't believe this story either, that you shared about your baby signing 'milk' and 'play'!

At first, I wondered why someone would teach a baby such a concept of 'play' when they are so young, but now I see and it makes sense since she likes to play with her toys and things.

She's a very lucky baby and I hope you will post more updates also about her progress with signing and talking later.

THANK YOU for such an encouraging and inspiring story experience!

Sincerely,

Liz

by: Teej

Wow!! I can't believe that your baby signs from starting that young. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see her hands shaped like the little signs!

Keep up the great work, Calleigh's gonna be ONE SMART child!

Happy Signing to you, too!

Thank you so much! ^^ Baby sign language will announce the winners tomorrow, August 20, 2010 8:00 AM EST.
