Costume for Calleigh update

Costume for Calleigh update:

We went to Ever Gotesco mall to look for Calleigh's Halloween costume. This is what she'll wear tomorrow. ^^
"Pumpkin Costume" Thank you Mama C and Papa J!^^
And this is how it really looks like...
TARAN!!!! Medium Size
Since it was a last minute shopping, wala na daw silang small size "UBOS NA". Nyarrrr! at parang kasya sa akin. Hehe! My second option was the lady bug costume pero "free size" lang daw. It's much bigger than the pumpkin costume.

Anyway, I don't know how will I make it more plumper like in this picture...
Any idea?

I hope Calleigh will wear it tomorrow. ^^ Good luck! ^^

Costume for Calleigh

"Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat"... ^^ I'm so excited for this coming trick or treat. ^^ The Halloween party will be on Friday. We still can't decide what costume to wear for Calleigh. The good news is that we have it narrowed down to three...

1st choice:
Pumpkin costume - click here

2nd choice:
Lady bug - click here
3rd choice:
Fairy - click here
Oh well, this is going to be Calleigh's first trick or treating. I don't know who's more excited, me or her. ^^ hehe!

I hope the weather will cooperate. And Kuya Hanz, please get well soon.

Safety first: When choosing the right baby Halloween costume, try not to choose the ones with extremely small pieces attached to them. Another thing to consider is to choose a costume which is preferably a one piece suit(jumpsuit type), and doesn’t have any parts that small children can pull off and swallow accidentally.
It doesn’t really matter how cute a costume may look when it’s when it’s more important that your child is safe when he/she puts it on.

Upright moments

Calleigh enjoys her upright moments tremendously!
Enjoy watching her videos...

Part II

Part III

Part IV

Part V

It may be her inquisitive and playful nature that my baby Calleigh doesn’t require much encouragement to stand. Everytime she manages to pull herself up on her feet, we give her a sense of accomplishment by complimenting her with a smile, a clap and a few words of praise.

And notice that she already knows how to lower herself down from a standing position to sitting. I just need to teach her how to sit down gently. bargas kasi maupo! ^^ heehee!

Calleigh's 8th month photos

Amazing as always. Calleigh has 4 teeth. ^^ She’s  exploring her toys and things by shaking them, throwing, banging them. She can crawl “forward”, thanks to the ABC foam mat. ^^ Now, we need more of those foam mats. This is unsurprising, because what she wants more than anything is whatever adult thing we're using at the moment -- cell phone, keys, remote control, brush, ipod, digicam, etc. She fully understands the meaning of NO and will almost always cry with the most heartbreaking cry.

Here are some new things she’s been doing:
·         Baby sign language for Telephone (babbling on her play phone)
·         Tricks: Clapping (lots of it when she gets excited), singing (in her own little way), dancing (in her own bouncy way), Waving (Hi and Goodbye)
·         Words: daddy, Mum, Te (ate/yaya), Go, paaapap (poop) ^^ hehe!
·         Her dexterity is amazing. She can now use her forefinger and thumb to pick up small objects. They call this the "pincer grasp" and loves practicing this new technique on anything small she can find to pick up. (another baby proofing)
·         She can sit and stand on her own, kneel and CRAWL!
·          Food: Healthy Options 3rd food, tried rice, papaya, banana, sinigang soup, fish, sayote, spaghetti, nilagang baka (sabaw), potato, peaches, bread with cheese, carrots, biscuits etc.
·         She still loves reading books, watching Upin and Ipin, Dora, Umizoomi, Barney, Baby Brainy, My baby can read and Elmo’s world is now her favorite.

Baby food to "Real food"

I can't wait for my daughter to eat more "real food". She tried eating real rice, papaya, banana, sinigang soup, fish, sayote, spaghetti, nilagang baka (sabaw), potato, peaches, bread with cheese, carrots, biscuits etc. What I noticed from her, if the bits are too big to swallow and if she gets tired chewing it, she'll pretend that she's going to throw up.
oh no!!
Transitioning from baby food to real food is another problem. whew! I recently tried earth's best 3rd food (9mos & older).

Photos from this site - http://www.earthsbest.com/node/37

She likes it! hooray!!!
babe, pati mata mo may food oh!
Earth's best 3rd food is a little chunkier so its easier for her to swallow without chewing it. And, it does cost a little more than the others, but, its worth it. ^^  I'm just confused because she loves eating biscuits on her own, taking bites and chewing on these things happily. However, when it comes to meal time, she still likes her food pureed and even mashed can be refused at times. Sigh!

Note: What may have worked for my child may not be the same for other babies, always consult your pediatrician before starting your child on a solids feeding schedule.

Daddy, papoooop Calleigh

 Calleigh: Dadaaaaa, Dadaaa, Dadaaaa-pappaaaaappp ^^

Daddy, papoooop Calleigh.
Here's a video of Calleigh calling her daddy.

I wanted to clean her up right after she pooped, but couldn't find a way to call her daddy to bring up the water, cottons and her diaper. hehehe!!! ^^

Toothbrush

Calleigh has 4 teeth now and I brush them with fingertip toothbrush from learning curve.
for only P69.75
I brush her teeth with this and a little bit of water to prevent tooth decay. According to research - "Toothpaste is not recommended until a child reaches age two. It is best to get advise from a dentist."

Calleigh loves it when I brush her teeth, it massages her gums and relieving the teething pain. ^^
She loves taking a bath plus she doesn't get cranky so, this is the time when we brushes her teeth and give her vitamins. hehehe!

Sitting to Standing

From sitting to standing...

Last Friday, I was busy preparing Calleigh's stuff before going back to my parents house. Since she was asleep, I decided to go up and finish what I was doing. When I went down, I was surprised to see my daughter standing inside her crib!
Taran!!! galing ko no?
 Good Job Honey!!!
anak, maliit na crib mo di ka na kasya. haha!
Her confidence has been boosted by her ability to roll over, sit up on her own, and crawl (backwards - hehe). She practices new skills every day. Pulling herself up on the side of the crib, the arm of the sofa (at 7 months), or my leg is her favorite now. ^^

Always remember: Make your home as safe as possible for your baby.
