Fever, Cough and Colds...

Calleigh has been sick for almost 6 days now. She had her 1st fever Thursday night with the temperature of  38.1. I woke up at 2am and notice her having goosebumps which is not normal for Calleigh. Sobrang ginawna kmi mag-asawa si Calleigh ayaw pa din ng blanket. Anyway, I checked on her temperature and it was 38.1 Her face was all red, her eyes were watery. We gave her .8ml of Paracetamol (according to her last check up at 6 mos old + her weight, the dosage of paracetamol is .8ml) then every 10 minutes I'm monitoring  her temperature and good thing it became 37.7 down to the normal temp which is 36.1. So, Friday morning the fever is gone! ^^ Wipee! then followed by bad colds and cough. I message her pedia about her situation.

Doctor: Only give paracetamol if the temperature is 38 or higher every 4 hours. Observe lang, Just make sure she's eating and doesn't have hard time breathing. Nebulize too.

So, that's what we followed and ofcourse a little research on how to make her feel better. Since, she's only 7 months old and doesn't know how to blow her nose, we do it manually with this....
To clean her nose when it's stuffy and to make it easier for her to breathe, eat, and sleep.

* keeping her head elevated with my pillow
She's making "ARTE" while taking her picture
* and bought a Eucalyptus and Rosemary oil for her Aromatherapy - according to Jayjay's research - its a powerful tool/ inhalant against respiratory conditions. for more info click here
Doctor said its OKAY to use oil burner with Eucalyptus scent just make sure you won't burn your room / home
* we should keep her body warm and we need to turn off the air-con. for more info click here
Calleigh ~ uncomfortable kasi walang aircon kaya gawin daw patungan ng paa ang daddy nya!
* and nebulize with plain NSS solution, 2ml every hour.
Good thing we have our own Nebulizer. Everyone should have it lalo na ngayon uso ang allergy
NSS Solution

She will NOT sleep at night unless she is lying on top of me! She needs to sleep so there's nothing we can do about it. We literally tag-teamed all night, each of us going as long as we could ’til our backs just said, “Enough!”

We took her to the doctor Monday afternoon. And her pedia said she's doing fine and nothing to worry about. " She looks fine! Her appetite is normal and just continue to nebulize. RELIGIOUSLY! Pag tinamad ka e di tatamadin gumaling yung sipon at ubo nya." Hmmm, OO NGA NAMAN!

As any mother knows, we just want our babies to feel better quickly and we all do whatever we have to do to help them — no matter how much it inconveniences us or hurts our backs! We hope she gets well soon... wawa naman si Calleigh ko.

is she getting better now? You may try Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa (ninjiom-hk.cwahi.net). i know alot of people use it, its also non alcoholic, though it's effectiveness is not as good as alcohol based cough medicine, but it's still good to use on not so serious coughs.

Yes, no more colds but cough is still there. I'll take note of it and ask her pediatrician about it. Thanks for the advice. ^^
