Food Mesher / Nibbler

I didn't know about mesh feeders when Kuya Hanz was starting solids. I don’t know why I didn’t know about them considering that they existed. hmmm, meron na ba niyan nung 1998? Hehehe! I learned about mesh feeders from my cousin's blog - click here.

Research galore for advantages and disadvantages of it and again where to buy one.

I checked on Kidco. - P1500+ for the kit

AND

The Nibbler - P 510 each

I found this website where you can order some baby stuff- Baby Uno Philippines

Anyway, before I order this Food Mesh feeder kit, I need to look for a cheaper one because it might not work for Calleigh. So, I saw one from Learning Curve - Disney. It's a lot cheaper than what I actually want for Calleigh.

Now, what is a food mesh feeder / nibbler - It’s baby mesh feeder. It’s plastic handle small enough for your wee ones hands, with a mesh bag at the other end. The feeder mesh bag has holes so small only the juices, taste, and occasionally a very small amount of mush (such as from peaches) of what’s inside are let out. The handle clips to the base and inside you can put; cooked carrots, apples, pears, peaches, bananas, pineapple and many other fruits, vegetables, snacks, and even cooked meals inside to give your 5 to 24 month old a good half an hour of sucking and chewing enjoyment. Hot or cold it doesn’t matter.

It's great for your little eaters when teething. Ice or frozen fruits is better. It will it make their gums feel better in a natural way plus they'll get some yummy factor, they'll be exposed to new textures and tastes and get some food at the same time.

Just a reminder:
1. It should be noted that the mesh feeder follows the same rules of introducing new foods. Observe each food to rule out any possible reactions which include anything from vomiting to a rash to a more serious reaction. Avoid known allergens like strawberries, citrus, corn or anything with peanuts.

2. Clean your feeder immediately. By immediately I do mean as soon as they finish gnawing on whatever they’re gnawing on. The biggest complaint with mesh feeders is that they’re “difficult to clean.” Well, sure, they are… if you let them sit overnight with the half-dissolved food getting stuck in creases and crevices. Taking care of the mess immediately is the absolute easiest way to keep it clean. Clean it before and after using it.

3. Also of note: mesh feeders are messy in general as the juice and bits of the food seep out of the mesh.

4. As always, never leave your child unattended while eating. While the mesh feeder was created to help expose kids to a wider range of food without the scare of choking hazards, children can still choke on their own spit. Be present and alert whenever your child is eating anything.

Alrighty then, I'll update you soon. I hope it will work for my Calleigh.
