Yaya Stories

Stories of Calleigh's Yayas. Please let me know if there's something wrong with me or my rules, or simpleng abusado lang sila..
I provide their toiletries just to avoid soaps and lotions that has whitening chemicals that might cause skin allergy for Calleigh. Anyway, I'm the one bathing, feeding and putting Calleigh to sleep. So, yaya's job is to
look after Calleigh during my working hours which is 7-8 am then 5pm to 9pm, laundry and sterilize Calleigh's bottles ~ That's it!!!

 Rules for Yaya:

1. ALWAYS - wash your hands and use alcohol before holding / carrying Calleigh
2. 6:00 am wake up time, make sure to take a bath and brush your teeth, eat breakfast.
3.Sterilize Calleigh's bottles make sure its clean coz I check Calleigh's bottles after cleaning it.
4. Laundry (Calleigh's clothes only) - once a week.
5. Make sure you're properly dressed. - No sando's, sleeveless, short shorts. You can use the scrub suits if you want. However, you must wear it when we are going out.
6. No make up, astringent, moisturizer and skin whitening lotion. You are allowed to use your astringent or moisturizer before going to sleep. Not in the morning.
7. No smoking
8. No cellphones - not allowed while taking care of Calleigh. You can use your cellphone during siesta time (1pm to 4pm) and at night after working hours (9pm).
9. No tagalog movies, you can watch tv only when Calleigh is asleep.
10. Calleigh is your first priority.
11. Play with Calleigh, read books, listen or sing nursery rhymes.
12. No dancing or swaying when putting Calleigh to sleep for her nap time.

YAYA # 1

Her name is Beverly. Referred by my cousin's yaya Marie. She started working for us 2 weeks before I gave birth to Calleigh. She's only 20 years old, 4th year high school graduate. She's from  Tanay, Rizal, she's my favorite yaya so far. She's very smart, happy person, very good in pronunciation except for "H" (etch) and na-correct naman. ^^ very good in science and math (naturuan kasi si hanz sa homework), very patient. Unfortunately, she needs to go back to Pangasinan to take care of her grandmother. She worked for us for 3 months. What I don't like about her ~ she keeps on using her cellphone kahit karga si Calleigh at nasusuka pag nasa car. whew!!!

YAYA # 2
Her name is Beth. She's Calleigh's second yaya and she's 43 years old with 2 children. She lives in Tanay and she was also referred to us by my cousin's yaya Marie. She worked for us for 4 months. What's good about her is ayaw mag day off. At first, she was yaya "BIBO" bibong bibo talaga. Aside from taking care of Calleigh, she helps with other household chores. But that's only for a month. The following months e sakit na sa ulo.
examples:
1. swaying and dancing Calleigh pag pinapatulog.
4. ATTITUDE - 1st time flu shot, went to her room at di na lumabas, kinabukasan na ulit. walang pasabi. nag ka- ALLERGY daw sya when we checked her arms halatang kinamot lang para mamula then nagkulong na ulit sa kwarto. bastos!!!
5. not sure - pero nawalan ng necklace yung sister ko and watch si Mama C. I checked on her stuff before umalis di ko na nakita. What I saw was the soaps, toothpaste, shampoos na binili ko at di ginamit. Even scotch brite and downy antibac na pang linis ng room floor namin. arrrgggghhh!
7. 1 week bago umails nakitaan ni Mama C meron knife under her pillow. Yaiks!
 8. She's a liar and mapag imbento ng story. At aminado siya na lasingera daw siya, she wants to go home na daw coz gusto na niya maging tambay ulit. Praning!!!!
9. Sings bahay kubo and tong tong pakitong kitong for Calleigh. hay!
Waaaaahhh!
11. She's a MIMAY - Mimay means - Me and my stories!!! Wtf!!!

YAYA # 3

Her name is Arcely. She's from Tanay too, cousin of Yaya Marie (nag rerecommend sa amin) she's 33 years old with 2 children (teenagers).
Good traits:
1. Very maasikaso kay Calleigh
2. Follows all my instructions except for DAY OFF

10 days after she's requesting for Day off and I allowed her since we're going to Angono, Rizal. 3 days and 2 nights na day off ha. take note!!! okay fine! FINE!

2 DAYS AFTER... she needs to go home daw kasi she's worried kasi yung anak niyang babae pinapabayaan ng asawa niya. Babalik din agad within the day. Go ate!!! di na bumalik!!!

YAYA # 4

No photo of her. but this is how she looks like ^^ hehehe!
Her name is Arlyn. She's 19 years old and married. She's from Batasan and was referred by a friend. She's thinner than me, small girl with tattoos, she smokes and bunggal ^^. Good points - she knows baby sign language so I don't have to teach her. Yun lang!!! After 2 days, she quits! Why? - she's pregnant and di daw niya kaya si Calleigh sa bigat. whew! buti nalang dahil di ko alam pano sabihin na ayaw ko siya.

YAYA # 5

Her name is Adelpha. She was referred to us by Julie (stay out helper who works for my in-laws for years now) Adelpha is 35 years old with 1 child (9years old). She's a stay out yaya, she works from 6am to 9pm. Adelpha is okay too. Happy person, very maasikaso kay Calleigh and follows our rules. She worked for 13 days only, why? she needs to stop working because walang magbabantay sa anak niya dahil umuwi na kapatid niya sa Samar.

Adelpha left September 23. The next day Yaya # 4 is back...
Whatever! she owes me and pamasahe pa lang pati pag balik sa amin e ako pa ang may gastos.

September 28 - Arcely: Ate, nilalagnat ako at nanginginig.

Kaloka! ^^ Wala nanaman yaya si Calleigh. =(

Sleeping time

Calleigh developed her sleeping pattern during her 3rd month. She's on her 8th month now and her night time routine is still the same. Thank God! ^^ It sounds weird to get a baby to put themselves to sleep, however Calleigh does very well with it.

Calleigh rolls around the bed til she finds a comfortable position. And there's nothing you can do to stop her...

Banana and Banani

Calleigh has been eating bananas from Earth's best and Gerber's jarred baby food and she loves eating it!!! During her 6th month we let her try mashed banana (mixed with her milk and without milk) ~
yaiks!!! she hates it.
Now, we are taking cues from Calleigh. If she wanted them, she had them. If not, we stepped back.
oh no mommy!!!
hmmmm?
masarap naman pala ^^
more! more! more!
Please remember: always  consult with your pediatrician about introducing solid foods to your baby. And Please be aware that bananas are also known to cause constipation when eaten in large quantities.

The Goodness of Bananas for Your Baby:  - click this link for more info.

Bananas are an excellent source of nutrition and as such, are another perfect fruit to be one of baby's first foods. Bananas are often called one of nature's perfect foods because they are said to contain many of the nutrients that a person needs to survive. One of the most important nutritional components of Bananas is that they contain potassium and fiber. Bananas are also high in Vitamin B6, Vitamin C and Vitamin B2.

And now, I'm teaching Calleigh the baby sign language / ASL for Banana
"Banana"
oh Calleigh is my ~ "honey banani" ^^

Baby signing for "Milk"

Calleigh has mastered the baby sign language / ASL for milk. Just wanna share her video signing for milk. ^^

It's so nice to know what your baby wants without guesswork and crying... ^^

here's another one... ^^ she was so sleepy and asking for milk...

Baby walker

Canada has banned the sale of baby walkers. UK data suggests, however, that more accidents and injuries happen in babywalkers than with any other form of baby equipment. This is because they give babies extra speed (a baby can reach up to one metre per second in one zoom), extra height and access to multiple hazards.

Most injuries are caused by falls when the babywalker tips and the baby is thrown downstairs or crashes into furniture, heaters or ovens. There is also an increased risk of your baby being burnt by previously inaccessible objects, such as candles and hot cups of tea. Thirdly, it allows her to reach household poisons, such as perfume, mouthwash or alcohol, left at a previously safe level.

NAMAN!!! Commonsense / sentido común ~ NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED!!!

Oh well, we are planning to buy one for Calleigh, but according to her pediatrician, "make sure Calleigh is ready for it". If she can stand on her own then that's the time we can buy her a walker. And yafifi, Calleigh can pull herself up to a standing position with support. So, her back and legs are quite ready for standing. ^^
We borrowed her cousin's walker. Let's see...

They say that walkers won't help your baby learn to walk and in fact, using one too much may even delay her development slightly. A baby needs to roll, crawl, sit  and to play on the floor, in order to reach her developmental milestones.

Don't walkers help your baby learn how to walk?  - click here
No. Despite the name "walker," many reputable sources, including the AAP, confirm that "Walkers do not help a child learn to walk; indeed, they can delay normal motor and mental development."

Benefits of baby walker:

Fun: Baby walkers gives baby maximum opportunity to have fun while inside the baby walker. Babies love things that excites them, and baby walkers comes in various shapes and designs that gets baby excited as long as they are sitted inside the baby walker. The toys that come along with the walker is one of the things that give baby fun, because kids love to play and have fun with toys.
Relaxation: Baby walker’s gives baby the comfort for relaxation, so baby tends to relax more when they are in a baby walker. Though this should not be the main reason why the baby should be put in the baby walker because the baby may develop back ache when left for a long time except if it’s an ergo-baby walker that gives maximum back support. It’s advisable to leave the baby in a baby walker for only a short period of time in order to minimize back ache and hyena in male babies.

ayaw niya nung mga tumutunog kaya gusto niya sirain. hehe!

Calleigh's 7th month Photos

My clever little princess. This month, she has completely transformed from an infant that hardly knew anything, to a much more smart baby! She is aware of her surroundings. She can concentrate on things for much longer period of time without losing interest. She knows how to express emotions. She loves to watch and listen to me read her books. She knows the words – Flowers, Tree, ofcourse – butterfly, dog, cat, bird, fish, pig, cow, tv, spongebob, ernie and bert (sesame street), bath time, sleep, feet, eyes, nose, food, water, book, barney, baby, cold, park, mirror, hat, ball and hair. Understands – no, what do you want/like? Where is it? Where’s the ____? where are you going? Where do want to go?stop it. She can now say – Da-dy, Meeek (milk), boo boo (baby), na na(tara na), i-ya (sira), bfy (butterfly) pa-pap(food/eat) Sometimes the words can be funny and make me laugh, either because of the pronunciation, or because they are unexpected.

Here are some new things she’s been doing:
·         *Baby sign language for Dog, Fish, No, Daddy, bird, milk, play, book, cat, sleep, more, food/eat.
·         *She has discovered that she can pant like a dog (lalo na pag uma-arte), she will growl like a lion (pag badtrip na)
panting like a dog
·          Loves reading books
busy reading? looking at her book ^^
·         *Testing our authority by refusing to follow simple “NO” or “STOP”
honey, i said NO! not your toes Calleigh
·         *She is much more of a talker this month. She strings together her babbling into sounds that are more similar to words than ever before. She doesn't really know what she's saying. I just like to pretend that she's talking to me.

·         *She wants to crawl so badly. She can scoot her way around the bed, backwards and occasionally she will draw her legs up underneath her and scoot forwards too.
·         *She can sit comfortably without support for quite some time! She can't sit herself up from lying down yet.
·        * Pulls up to standing position from sitting, stand while holding onto something
·         *She has become quite the wiggle worm and it is nearly impossible to feed, diaper, or clothe her.
·         *She is taking quite a few naps still...but doesn't like to sleep in the daylight much...which is definitely a new development.

·         *Along with her hair pulling, she has started pulling her OWN hair.
·         *She’s now teething. 2 bottom central teeth.
·         *Bang objects together, gets upset if you take her toy away, Work at getting a toy that is out of her reach
·         *separation and stranger anxiety
·         *wave goodbye
·         *Food: healthy options – earth’s best rice cereal and jarred baby food. Marie biscuit, Nestle yogurt and Ice cream (ocassionally), Taho, recently tried: real banana and egg ^^
coke?
·         *Likes watching Upin and Ipin, Barney, Dora and Phineas and Ferb ^^

It's fascinating to watch her grow.^^

McFlurry

Mommy, I want my ice cream. ^^
We let Calleigh try McD's Mcflurry!!! ^^

And she loves it! Here are some of her photos... ^^ such a cutie! ^^

Advice: Consult your doctor first and check for allergens. ^^ ofcourse, ice cream won't harm your baby however, it isn't recommended as a suitable food for your babies.

We just let our little girl taste it. ^^
Photos taken: September 17, 2010
So, instead of giving ice cream to your little ones for their snack, the best alternative is plain yogurt. ^^ haha!! Do not limit your baby's food choices to the ones you like. Offering a wide variety of foods early will pave the way for good eating habits later.

next anak san mig light naman try mo...
Go honey, try it. ^^

Marie biscuit for Calleigh

Calleigh is now exploring new food! ^^
"anak, plastic yan! easy!"

It is fun to watch your baby exploring to new tastes and textures while getting used to food in their mouth.

Here are some of Calleigh’s photos eating “ MARIE BISCUIT”

Please note your baby's main source of nutrition is from breast milk and/or formula, it is important that you nurse or bottle feed first and then offers your little one solid. It is also one of the least allergenic foods, making it, particularly suitable for babies starting solid foods before 6 months of age.

You should always consult your baby’s pediatrician before introducing new foods to your baby. Avoid any suggested foods that may pose an allergy risk for your baby.

She likes nestle fruit yogurt too! ^^
haha, marunong na kumagat!!! ^^ hehe!
