Calleigh is sick again. arrrggghhh! According to this site: One reason that babies get a lot of colds is that their immune systems are immature, making them more vulnerable to illness. And, most children average between six and ten colds per year. In families
with children in daycare or school, the number of colds can reach 12
per year! (The average adult gets two to four colds annually.) What????
We won't be taking Calleigh to the doctor yet, we still need to observe and since there is no medicine will make a virus go away faster, we need to follow her doctor's advice.
Nebulize religiously with Plain NSS solution. And our home remedies: Eucalyptus (oil burner) serves as vaporizer before she goes to sleep, use rubber bulb syringe (depends on her mood, but she knows how to blow her nose) and elevating her head when she's sleeping. It will help Calleigh feel a little better.
To reduce your baby's risk of getting a cold:
1. WASH YOUR HANDS! Make sure everyone in the household washes their hands frequently.
2. Wipe young kids' hands with a clean washcloth and warm water often. Babies
love to put their hands in their mouth.
3. Wash young kids' hands before and after eating and after playtime.
WASH! WASH! WASH! WASH!
There is no cure or vaccine for the common cold, which makes catching a cold an inevitable part of growing up.
